ROUNDS 1/2 SNETTERTON
Not much to say realy didnt have the best of weekends results wise but did enjoy some good little battles with Nick Thornton, Phil Higgins and my mate Matt Bainbridge.Weather was awful and on the practice day on the Friday my tyre warmers decided to go mentle and destroy not only themselves but also a brand new front tyre. So that was £300 spent before I had even gone out on the track. Looking forward to the next round now at Oulton Park on May 20th and heres praying for better luck and better weather.
Round 3 Oulton Park
Well yet another bad weekend. It was not just the weather that was rubbish. Again we had heavy rain for the days 2 races so thats now 6 races and 5 have been in the wet. Qualifying was going ok till i had both wheels loose traction and slide in the first corner so decided just to stay on and get through the session and make it onto the grid so 15th place it was. The weather didnt improve for either of the races and with standing water on most of the corners it was a day just to stay on two wheels and get to the end of the race in one piece. 15th and 16th places again not the best of results but lets just hope for dry weather at Pembrey and see if i can kick start my season there and get back to last years form.
ROUNDS 4/5 PEMBREY
At least the weather was good.So as you may gather from that statement the results did not get much better at the weekend.Beautifull sunshine greated us in South Wales on the Friday morning for the test day and things went rather well compared to the previouse rounds no problems great weather and some encorageing times in the practice sessions.Again the weather was hot and sunny for Saturday and the qualifying session went rather well with no misshaps and 12th place on the grid. Race one and off we went a good start away with the leading group picked up a couple of places into the first corner then approching Brooklands on lap two I made a move to go up another place and WHOOPS Mick Jenkins who i was attempting to pass decided i wasnt going through but id decided i was and so the enevitable racing result in this type of situation is NOBODY GOES THROUGH and down we went. So that was that race one over less than two laps in. Race two and the weather was holding another good start but after race ones incident it was a case of stay on get a finish and get some points so 12th place was settled for.Sunday and round 5. The weather had changed and was now overcast but still quite warm. Qualified 12th again but 0.67 of a second faster than the day before so things were going in the right direction. Race one and a lonely one at that running in 14th place for most of the race looseing ground on the group in front and lapping 0.4 seconds a lap slower than in qualifying then to make things worse got mugged on the last lap so finished 15th.Race two another good start away with the leaders and was holding on to the back of the top 10 group for the first 4 laps. Then a couple of misstakes saw me drop off the group and the harder i tried to catch them the slower i went droping me back to 14th but with 3 laps to go it started to lightly rain and with riders in front slowing more than myself I had got back up to 12th half way round the last lap but endedup 13th after loosing out down the back straight. Shame the rain didnt start sooner as i managed to post the 9th fastest time on the damp last lap. So onwards and upwards and off to Oulton Park on the 8th of July for round 6.
